geni browser open
Open a hosted browser session to drive from a local Playwright script over CDP.
geni browser open [flags]Opens a hosted browser and prints its CDP URL. With --profile the browser arrives signed in with that saved browser's cookies and storage; without it, the browser is logged out. One session at a time.
| Flag | Notes |
|---|---|
--profile <id> | Saved browser to hydrate. Ids from geni browser profiles. |
--json | Machine-readable output. |
Output
✓ Browser session open (kernel)
CDP URL: wss://…
Live view: https://…
Scripts run via `geni exec bash` get GI_BROWSER_CDP_URL automatically; in a plain shell, export it yourself.
Close with `geni browser close` when done to save the login and stop billing (auto-closes after 2 hours). The live view, when the vendor offers one, lets you watch the session in your own browser.
If a session is already open, the command warns and prints the existing session's details instead of opening a second one. Close it first.
