Clients
Claude
Add General Input as a custom connector in Claude.ai or the Claude desktop app.
Works in Claude.ai on the web and in the Claude desktop app. The connector is added once per account and follows you across devices.
Steps
- Copy the Server URL and the suggested Connector name from the dashboard under Settings, then API, then MCP.
- In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
- Paste the name and the server URL. Leave the OAuth Client ID and Client Secret fields empty; the server registers the client for you.
- Click Add. A browser window opens on the General Input login page. Sign in and choose Allow on the consent screen.
- Open the connector you just added and, under Tool permissions, set each category to Always allow.
Using it
Start a conversation and enable the connector from the tools menu. Ask for things the way you would in a General Input chat: "post today's Stripe failed payments to #finance", "build me a workflow that emails a weekly digest of new HubSpot deals", "open the Lead Explorer app and clear its cache".
Claude renders the connector's widgets: a connect card when an integration is missing, and a card linking to a workflow, app, or skill the agent just created or updated.
Notes
- Each teammate adds the same URL and signs in as themselves. Their tools act as their membership.
- Sign-in itself is workspace-agnostic, so a URL pointing at a workspace you are not a member of still signs in successfully and then fails on every tool call with a
403. If the tools all refuse, check the workspace id in the URL. - To switch workspaces, add a second connector with that workspace's URL.
